Rob Maher is an established attorney, focusing his practice on creditors’ rights and real estate, and serves as outside general counsel for a number of corporations. He works on a wide variety of matters, including real estate transactions, secured transactions, and litigation involving real estate, insolvency, and financial services litigation, concerning complex receivership appointments, foreclosures, partitions, and condemnations at the state court level and Chapter 11 bankruptcy liquidations and reorganizations at the federal court level. His experience and approach to client service, continuous learning, and promptness make him sought after in the legal community.
Having an extensive background in loan enforcement and finance, Rob represents many well-respected banks and financial institutions on matters involving loan positions, priorities, claims, and judgments, both locally and nationally. Vehemently protecting the client’s loan position is his goal. When a borrower, vendor, or debtor enters into bankruptcy, Rob strategically navigates the creditor client through the complicated bankruptcy processes, procedures, and timelines, regardless of the Bankruptcy Chapter.
Rob also provides counsel on front-end documenting loans. He has guided clients through multi-million-dollar loan transactions involving many types of collaterals, including multi-level borrower structures. His work also includes the back-end, default, forbearance and workout end of loan enforcement through workouts, forbearance agreements, modification agreements, and deeds in lieu of foreclosure agreements or consensual receivership appointments.
Another facet of Rob’s practice includes advising commercial, retail, industrial, and residential real estate clients in numerous areas, including acquisition, financing, development, renting, leasing, and liquidation of real estate. He recently represented a Missouri-based frozen custard chain in acquiring and leasing of retail locations throughout the United States. Additionally, Rob has led clients through change of ownership transactions via stock or asset sales.
