Seigfreid Bingham Attorneys Featured as Speakers at KCMBA’s ‘Business Law 101’ CLE Program

Attorneys René Calabrese and Tate Thompson served as featured speakers at the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s (KCMBA) continuing legal education program, "Business Law 101: Core Concepts for the Next Generation of Attorneys," held last week.
The half‑day program, developed in partnership with the KCMBA Business Law Section, brought together attorneys in the early stages of their business law practice for a comprehensive overview of foundational concepts. Participants engaged in sessions led by experienced practitioners covering a wide range of topics, including sports and entertainment, intellectual property, real estate, construction, labor and employment, corporate formation and tax, business transactions, and in‑house counsel perspectives.

- René Calabrese presented on real estate, offering practical insights into contracts, current trends, and key considerations for transactional and development work, to provide young attorneys with a basic understanding of both commercial and residential real estate transactions.
- Tate Thompson presented on sports and entertainment, sharing guidance on current compliance issues facing college athletics institutions, real estate ventures in professional sports, and other day-to-day topics young attorneys might encounter in sports law.
