Serving those in health care with thorough counsel.
Mark spends most of his time serving the health care industry. He can help your medical practice by drafting and negotiating physician employment agreements, physician service agreements, employee policies, and creating management services arrangements. Mark also has experience assisting physicians and other providers in the implementation of medical spas and medical aesthetic practices, as well as concierge care and direct primary care models. He can also counsel your organization on a wide range of transactional legal needs, including equipment leases, transactional deals, clinic and office space leases, and employee handbooks. And if you are experiencing a health care merger or acquisition, he can help you with that process as well.
A firm grasp on health care compliance issues.
In addition, he can help you and your organization remain compliant with a wide range of federal and state regulatory systems. In particular, he can help you avoid fraud and abuse, wage and hour claims, and a host of issues related to Anti-Kickback/Stark laws, EMTALA, and State licensing issues.
His knowledge of the ever-evolving world of health care, paired with his responsive nature and communication skills make him the perfect business partner for those with a variety of legal issues.
A background in health care and employment law.
Mark has a wide range of experience in the area of labor and employment and has assisted clients with matters that include: drafting, revising, and updating employee handbooks, personnel policies, and separation agreements, drafting and negotiating non-competition agreements, employee/contractor classification issues, wage and hour compliance, ADA/FMLA leave compliance, and issues related to social media. His unique background in both employment and health care law allows him to provide excellent value to hospitals and health systems with a wide range of needs. As a result, and unlike some Kansas City attorneys, Mark doesn’t need assistance from an employment lawyer when his business clients need employment law help – he has the experience to do it all.
Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
Mark also has experience working with buyers, sellers, and investors on asset purchases, stock purchases, mergers, and other complex business transactions in other industries with clients at all stages of the business life cycle.
Outside of the law, Mark serves as a board member for both the Kansas City CARE Clinic and KCPT-Kansas City Public Television.
