In 1974, three Kansas City attorneys decided there was a better way to run a law firm.
Those three attorneys, Larry Bingham, Jim Seigfreid, and Bill Burrell, founded the Kansas City law firm of Burrell, Seigfreid & Bingham with the intent of creating a firm using a philosophy of focusing on relationships and respect.
They understood that a critical element of being a great lawyer was respecting other lawyers and clients and caring about the community. As such, they made it a point to focus on recruiting lawyers and other legal professionals that fit that mold.
Their philosophy worked.
The firm grew over the years and began representing some of Kansas City’s most notable organizations, including JE Dunn and the Kansas City Chiefs. In 1990 the firm merged with another prominent Kansas City law firm, Rich, Granoff, Levy & Gee.
Combined, the merged firm was known as Seigfreid, Bingham, Levy, Selzer & Gee.
Today the firm is known as Seigfreid Bingham, P.C., and is one of Kansas City’s largest law firms. It still represents many of its original clients, including the Kansas City Chiefs, and it continues to focus on what mattered to the founding attorneys: relationships with other attorneys, relationships with clients, and caring about the community.
