Katie Zogleman is a business attorney who takes the time to build relationships with her clients so she can understand what matters most to them and help them make sound business decisions. Katie has served on the Firm’s Executive Committee since 2018 and has been elected the Firm’s Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2026.

Katie grew up in western Kansas and earned a degree in psychology and organizational leadership from Fort Hays State University before attending law school. That foundation shapes her strengths: developing strong working relationships with businesses and understanding the individuals behind them. This perspective helps her work efficiently and assertively on large or critical transactions, manage the many moving parts, resolve problems, and keep deals moving forward.

Practical advice for business owners and leaders. Katie’s practice focuses on serving as outside general counsel to privately held companies, with particular experience in the technology, manufacturing, and dealer/distributor industries. She finds learning about the “big picture” of a client’s business (and its people) to be the most rewarding part of her practice, and she tailors her advice to fit each client’s overall business goals. Katie works daily with the CEOs, COOs, and CFOs of many of her clients, providing timely, forward-thinking advice that keeps their operations running and growing. Because many of her clients operate globally, Katie also has first-hand experience guiding businesses through international expansion.

A proven track record in mergers and acquisitions. Beyond serving as outside general counsel, Katie spends the majority of her time assisting clients with mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and succession planning. She has extensive experience guiding clients through the legal and practical aspects of selling a business, transitioning a business to new ownership, and acquiring another business. She enjoys learning the details of every new business and working with clients to focus on the deal points that have the greatest impact. Every deal is different, and Katie believes her role as counsel is to advocate for each client in achieving the client’s personal and business goals.

A dedicated attorney who will move your business forward. In addition to her legal skills, Katie is known for her work ethic and dedication to her clients. She prides herself on acting quickly and efficiently and on offering individualized solutions to each client’s needs. When unexpected issues arise, she addresses them right away rather than letting them hang over the deal. She remains focused on each client’s overall business and understands that legal services must fit within the client’s broader objectives.
