COVID-19 vaccine policy considerations

The COVID-19 vaccine is expected to be available to the general population in the spring and summer of 2021. Employers should take time now to study the impact of a mandatory vaccine policy. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has stated that employers can make the COVID-19 vaccine compulsory, but there a number of practical and legal hurdles to keep in mind.

This 30-minute overview will address how a COVID-19 mandatory policy interacts with topics including American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, employee privacy rights, wage and hour concerns, workers’ compensation, and union contracts.
