The North American Equipment Dealers Association (NAEDA) presented its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to Jack R. Selzer at their annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.

“NAEDA’s Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to individuals who have contributed significantly to the success of equipment dealers throughout North America,” said Paul Kindinger, NAEDA CEO.  “Jack’s knowledge of the many and various legal intricacies involved in the successful operation of equipment dealerships has guided and assisted dealers and NAEDA for many years.”

Jack has focused his practice on equipment dealerships having worked with hundreds of equipment dealers over the past 30 years on a wide range of matters including dealer succession/estate plans, mergers, acquisitions, tax planning and manufacturer relations.  Over this period he has worked with associations, dealers and manufacturers in drafting equipment dealer legislation and has advised dealers on their use.  He has served as NAEDA’s Legal Counsel since February of 2002.

Jack attended Notre Dame and received his B.A. from Rockhurst University, J.D. from theUniversity of Florida and L.L.M from Boston University.  He also served as trial attorney for four years in the Chief Counsel’s Office of the Internal Revenue Service.  Jack was stationed on the USS Jonas Ingram, DD 938 for four years and retired as a Lieutenant from the United States Navy.   He has also been on several school boards as president and regent including Notre Dame de Sion and Rockhurst University.
