Seigfreid Bingham, P.C. is pleased to announce that Christopher C. Tillery, Tyra L. Blew and Lisa Althoff-Simmons have joined the firm as Associate attorneys.

TilleryChris received a B.A. from Emporia State University in 2002 and a J.D. from University of Kansas School of Law in 2006.  Prior to coming to Seigfreid Bingham, Chris served as a law clerk in the Judicial District Court of Kansas and was in a private practice with another Kansas City area firm.  Chris will be an associate in Seigfreid Bingham’s litigation practice group.  He has represented a variety of business and commercial clients as defense counsel in the areas of business and commercial litigation, employment discrimination and retaliation, construction defect and design error, medical malpractice, products’ liability and premises liability. He has extensive case management experience in all stages of litigation, including written discovery, pre-trial and post-trial motions, and direct and cross examination of witness testimony at deposition or at trial. He also has broad familiarity with all aspects of dispute resolution, including pre-suit negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and pre-trial settlement conferences.  Chris lives with his wife, Amy, and their three young children in Overland Park, Kansas.

BlewTyra received a B.A. from University of Kansas in 2008, an M.A. from Oklahoma State University in 2011, and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2014, where she served as managing editor for the Chicago-Kent Journal of International and Comparative Law.  Also during law school, Tyra externed in the legal departments of two multi-national companies and volunteered as a mediator with the Chicago Center for Conflict Resolution.  Tyra will be an associate in Seigfreid Bingham’s Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Data, Privacy and Technology practice groups. She will assist clients across multiple industries with a wide range of corporate and transactional legal needs, including business formation, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance. She also provides services to nonprofit and tax exempt organizations.  In her free time, Tyra enjoys hiking with her dog, Atticus, connecting with Kansas City’s entrepreneurial community, and cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks.

Althoff-SimmonsLisa graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. from Lincoln University, graduated summa cum laude with an M.B.A. from William Woods University, and received a J.D. from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 2015, where she served as Editor in Chief, De Jure of the UMKC Law Review and was on the Dean’s List.  She is also currently pursuing an LL.M. in Tax from UMKC. Prior to law school, Lisa served as the Executive Director of the Missouri Women’s Council of the Missouri Department of Economic Development, a gubernatorial appointment that required Missouri Senate confirmation.  Lisa will be an associate in Seigfreid Bingham’s Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Tax Law, and Estate Planning practice groups.
