Seigfreid Bingham, P.C. expresses its deepest condolences upon the death of one of jimseigfreid_20150405its founding members and former longtime managing director.  James T. Seigfreid, 83,passed away peacefully on April 1, 2015 with his family at his side.

On behalf of the firm, Larry J. Bingham, also a co-founder and former managing director of the firm, said “We are deeply saddened by the news of Jim’s passing.  The entire Seigfreid Bingham family extends its thoughts and prayers to Jim’s wife and family.  Jim was an excellent attorney and an inspirational leader of the firm for more than 30 years.  His hard work, his commitment to his faith and his community, his loyalty, and his friendship will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on through the law firm that he helped build.”

Jim received his B.A. from the University of Missouri in 1953, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri in 1955. After graduation from law school, Jim entered the Judge Advocate General’s Office of the U.S. Air Force, serving proudly as a First Lieutenant until his honorable discharge in 1957.

Jim was an accomplished attorney and civic leader. His passion as a lawyer was to serve his clients and build a law firm of the highest caliber and ideals.  On June 1, 1974, together with his colleagues, Bill Burrell and Larry Bingham, he founded the law firm of Burrell, Seigfreid & Bingham, known as Seigfreid Bingham, P.C. today, for which Jim served as chairman and managing director for many years.  In 2005, he was recognized by the Missouri Bar Association for 50 years of service as a practicing attorney and member of the Missouri Bar Association.

Among his numerous business, civic and charitable accomplishments, Jim served as a director and secretary of the Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc., Hunt Midwest Enterprises, Inc. and the Chiefs Children’s Fund. He was a member of the Board of Directors and past chairman of Research Medical Center and The Research Foundation. He also served as director and past president of the Board of Catholic Charities of Kansas City/St. Joseph, Inc. and as chairman of the Diocesan Central City School Fund.
