Seigfreid Bingham attorneys Katie Conklin and John Vering gave a presentation on September 18, 2024, to the Greater Kansas City Society of Healthcare Attorneys (GKCSHA), covering recent employment law updates.
Katie and John discussed the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, the PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity’s (EEOC) recent guidance on harassment in the workplace, the Supreme Court’s heightened standard for employers to deny religious accommodation requests, wage and hour updates, the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) rule banning non-compete agreements, and the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) recent guidance and decisions concerning non-compete agreements and confidentiality and non-disparagement clauses contained in severance agreements.
