Mark Opara’s legal practice encompasses all aspects of general business/corporate law including the specific areas of health care law and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Opara health care experience includes: Selling and acquiring healthcare businesses, drafting and negotiating physician employment agreements, physician service agreements, equipment leases, clinic and office space leases, managed care arrangements, and advising clients on compliance issues related to Anti-Kickback/Stark laws, EMTALA, reimbursement, licensing requirements, corporate practice of medicine and other state regulation issues.
Mr. Opara also has a wide range of experience in the area of labor and employment and has assisted clients with matters that include: drafting, revising, and updating employee handbooks, personnel policies, and separation agreements, drafting and negotiating non-competition agreements, employee/contractor classification issues, wage and hour compliance, ADA/FMLA leave compliance, and issues related to social media.
During law school, Mark served as a staff member of the UMKC Law Review. He was also a member of the Black Law Students Association.
